Common and Sensitive Data

GDPR distinguishes between:

  • Common person data
  • Sensitive person data

Common Person Data

Comon person data is defined as data directly or indirectly identifying a natural person.

For common person data GDPR requires access control securing that person data does not end up with third parties.

Sensitive Person Data

Sensive person data on the other hand is defined as person data that by itself has the potential to hurt the natural person by any mean, including economical interests, reputation, etc.

For sensitive person data GDPR requires beside the access control also encryption of det person data.
